Discovery & Introduction to Macramé Day
A day in the company of Ani Palzang: introduced to Brazilian bracelets at primary school, then under the spell of micro-macramé during a trip to Brazil, she now lives at the TNG Tibetan Buddhist Centre in the Corbières. Having taken the vows of a Buddhist nun, she is inspired by the skills of knots and ceramics, which for centuries have been a support for generosity, well-being and meditation.
She explains her journey and her inspiration here.
The Values
Dawa Creation represents the art of macramé combining different beads:
Essences: Boxwood from Aude, rosewood from Nepal, semi-precious stones from America and ceramics.
Generations: Bringing back to life the beads of the old jewellery worn by our grandmothers, so that the majority of our creations are unique! This emphasises simplicity, by creating while recycling with what is available at the time!
Our Intentions
- Gain an international understanding of traditional knots
- Learn about semi-precious stones and the recycling of jewellery
- Develop attention to detail, creativity and concentration
... All this sharing joyfully !
Program
The workshop is open to everyone aged 6 and over.
We will explore together and according to the level of each one:
- The basic knot of the Brazilian bracelet
- One of the basic knots in macramé: flat and braided knot
- The lotus bracelet and its variations
- Setting a stone
